A Look Ahead to 2012

I've been asked by several friends, "what's next?"  I've got a few things planned for next year but thought it would be a good idea to post my 2012 plan.

Before we end the year, I will be doing one event: 2011 Thanksgiving Day Run.  This is a 5 mile run to the top of Iroquois Park and back down.  Quite a climb in that park so should be fun.

Now we can talk about 2012.

Even though the weather can be brutal, I plan on doing the 2012 version of this.  The January and February events can be held in wicked weather.  But knowing they're coming will at least keep me in shape over the winter.

After that series starts my proper season.  The first is the Derby Festival Marathon on April 28th, my first stand alone (outside of Ironman) marathon.

Nothing official for May, but I'll be starting my 20 week Iron distance training plan.

June is the Motor City olympic distance tri in Detroit.  One of my favorite events.  Flat, super fast, great place to try to PR.

Ironman Muncie is July 7.  This is my main prep race for Rev 3 in September.  Supposed to be a very nice event.

August 28th, I'll be a super volunteer at IMKY.  The volunteers there were just awesome there last year so I must repay them this year by volunteering as much as I can.

My big event this year:  Rev3 CP.  Doing this with several friends.

I'm sure I'll round out the year with a couple half marathons or other smaller events.
